At the heart of the festival on the Spuiplein the ‘Vortex’ will be built, a large construction designed by Raumlaborberlin and realized in collaboration with Refunc, created over the course of several weeks from the rubbish that the people in The Hague have discarded during that time. In addition, the household furniture of cultural institutions that will cease to exist after 2012 due to the budget cuts by the Dutch government will be used. The building resembles a black hole, a vortex that draws everything in. From local rubble, an actual building is created, in which performances will take place and a bar is located.
