Ryoichi Kurokawa – syn_ [JP]
Ryoichi Kurokawa works intensively with audiovisual media since 1999. He describes his work as time based sculptures in which digital generated materials and field recorded sources, and minimalistic forms and complex structures coexist. Kurokawa was one of the great successes at TodaysArt 2008 with his work ‘Parallel Head’. His newest work, “syn_”, is a new version of Kurokawa’s previous diptych audiovisual concert piece called “cm: av_c”. This work focuses more on music, but together with Kurokawa’s amazing visual work it induces an incredible sensory experience.
