TodaysArt Festival 2016: Call for interns
TodaysArt is a network organization that revolves around the presentation and development of adventurous contemporary visual arts, performing arts and emerging culture. Since 2005, TodaysArt has established an impressive international profile through collaborating with – and bringing together – leading and pioneering creators, thinkers, organizations and audiences. http://todaysart.org
TodaysArt, the roving festival for digital and trans-disciplinary art and creativity, returns to the city center of The Hague. The previous two editions of TodaysArt were based in Scheveningen, the coastal capital of The Netherlands, which emphasized visual art on and around The Pier. This year’s festival will take place from September 22nd to the 25th of September. Once again it will turn it’s focus on the performing art. http://todaysart.nl
Bright Collisions is the international symposium dedicated to creativity and society, with the aim to support transdisciplinary ideas and opportunities in the creative industries. It is designed to promote talent and business opportunities in a digital culture environment. The fifth edition of the Bright Collisions symposium program takes place from the 22nd until the 25th of September, within the framework of the TodaysArt festival in The Hague. Each year interns are of great value in the realization our annual festival and other activities. In the build-up to the 12th festival edition (September 22-25, 2016) we are looking for multiple interns. Below you will find descriptions of the available internship positions.
General conditions:
– Applicants: Both Dutch and international applicants are welcomed
– Period:As from today- October 14th, possible extensions are optional

Marketing + Communications Intern
As marketing + communications intern you work together with the marketing manager and the copywriter, editorial marketing manager. You will work closely with the programming team, graphic designers and web developers. As marketing intern you share the responsibility with your marketing team members to translate the content and projects of TodaysArt Festival to a broad, varied and large audience.
Tasks and responsibilities:
– Content management and updates (updating websites and social media channels, preparation of newsletters and press material, assisting in the coordination of offline print distribution)
– Preparation of audio and visual materials
– The external communications with partners and professionals regarding events and marketing activities.
– Assisting in the coordination of the invitations and press accreditation for the festival.
– Assisting in administrative tasks regarding marketing.
You:
– have good language skills in English, proficiency in Dutch and/or other languages is an asset;
– are motivated, eager to expand your capacities and willing to get things done;
– are a flexible, pro-active, independent and structured worker but are not hesitant to ask questions;
– are stress-resistant;
– have good communicative skills and are a team-worker;
– have strong writing, organizational skills and an eye for detail ;
– have basic knowledge and strong interest in creativity, contemporary arts, music, digital culture;
– are ideally following a creative industries, arts management, culture, music and/or media or similar study (not mandatory);
– are adept at using Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel), Google Drive, WordPress and CMS;
– have experience with Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign (not mandatory);
– have web design experience (not mandatory);
– have sound- and/or video editing skills (not mandatory).

Technical Production Intern
In this position you will work closely with the head of production. It will provide a hands on work experience to those especially interested in the festival and a freelance work environment. This position will offer the opportunity to build a foundational knowledge of the technical production side of a transdisciplinary work environment working with various production houses and companies.
Tasks and responsibilities:
– Assisting in (technical) production tasks (pre-production activities, technical rider check, communication with the locations and partners, technical transport);
– Assisting in internal communications regarding production, setting-up meetings, managing agendas and contacting colleagues, keeping the internal communication structure (tools and files) up-to-date;
– Assisting in external communications with partners and professionals regarding production, follow-ups and setting-up.
– Assisting in investigating the achievability and the possibilities of potential projects and events;
– Assisting in administrative tasks (financial, reporting, evaluation) regarding production.
You:
– have good language skills in English, Dutch proficiency and/or other languages is a an asset;
– are motivated, eager to expand your capacities and willing to get things done;
– are a flexible, pro-active, independent and structured worker but are not hesitant to ask questions;
– are stress-resistant

Bright Collisions Intern
Each year interns are of great value in the realization of our events and programs from our The Hague office. For 2016 we are looking for an intern to aid in the organization and production of Bright Collisions. You will work within the organization’s team on the planning, production, communications and evaluation of Bright Collisions, which program includes a high number of international partnerships and European network projects.
Tasks and responsibilities:
– assisting in marketing tasks, keeping track of planning, updating websites and social media channels, preparation of newsletters and press materials, communicating with head of marketing and Bright Collisions coordinators.
– assisting in production tasks (pre-production activities, travel and accommodations, contracts, hospitality, ticketing);
– assisting in internal communications, setting-up meetings, managing agendas and contacting colleagues, keeping the internal communication structure (tools and files) up-to-date;
– assisting in external communications with partners and professionals, follow-ups, setting-up and preparing meetings and providing information;
– assisting in preparing internal and external documents and proposals;
– assisting in administrative tasks (financial, reporting, evaluation).
You:
– have good language skills in English, Dutch proficiency and/or other languages is a an asset;
