TodaysArt.JP Festival 2014, Tokyo - Edition Zero
The pilot edition of TodaysArt.JP which took place in Tokyo from the 22nd to the 24th of November 2014 has had a warm welcome. The event is organized by local organizations, entrepreneurs and partners with the ambition to introduce a new urban festival format in Japan and to develop an annual TodaysArt festival in Tokyo, Kobe and Kawaski.
TodaysArt.JP edition Zero is set to take place in Warehouse TERRADA on Tokyo’s Tennoz Isle. TERRADA’s facilities around this area will be arranged for performance and exhibition program and talk sessions. The facilities include large-scale warehouse area along a canal, ‘Bond Street’, the center of redevelopment of Tennoz, and an isle office space. The installations and performances at previously off limits buildings will give audiences extraordinary experiences.
All programs were freely accessible. The performance program consisted of Timeline, the latest live mutation of Underground Resistance accompanied with a dj set by Mark Flash and the Japanese premiere of Canto Ostinato Audio Visual. The exhibition program consisted of installations, screenings and public space interventions by Skeletonics inc., Matthijs Munnik, Gabey Tjon a Tham, Joris Hoogeboom & Teun Verkerk, Lernert & Sander, Anouk De Clercq, Collective Works, Tanja Busking & Dayna Casey and other artists.
