Mohammed Assaf gained widespread popularity throughout the world with his remarkable and inspiring story and performances of Arab classics, contemporary pop songs, as well as songs from traditional Palestinian folklore. Amid constantly unstable circumstances and conflicts in the Arab world, Assaf has been able to unite Palestinians’ in a way that many political factions have not been able to before. In just a few months, Assaf has gone from an aspiring artist fighting his way out of the occupied borders of his hometown to a cultural ambassador and new hope for a generation.
