Launch events announced in Tokyo and Kobe for the first edition of TodaysArt.JP Festival 2015: Carl Craig + Mike Banks, onomono, Akiko Kiyama and DJ DUCT

Following a very successful pilot edition last November in Tokyo, this year the first full edition of TodaysArt.JP is unfolding in two cities: Tokyo and Kobe. After announcing the dates for the upcoming edition of the festival, TodaysArt.JP now released the programs for the festival’s launch events in both cities!

The launch parties will present a mix between the roots of techno music and contemporary electronic music from Japan. Carl Craig + Mike Banks; onomono aka O.N.O.; Akiko Kiyama and DJ DUCT are the first artists confirmed to perform in the premier of the festival in Tokyo (September 4 at Liquidroom) and in Kobe (September 5 at Troopcafe).

Bringing together two exponents of the second generation of Detroit Techno in one act with Carl Craig and Mike Banks (Underground Resistance) to share the stage with forward-thinking Japanese artists such as DJ DUCT (who performed at TodaysArt.NL 2009 and at TodaysArt.JP 2014); the well-established Berlin-based techno artist Akiko Kiyama (who performed at TodaysArt.NL 2014) and the renowned producer onomono aka O.N.O.

After these launch events, the full program of TodaysArt.JP will be presented in two cities during the month of September. In Tokyo, the festival will be staged in different locations on TENNOZ Isle from the 5th to 13th, while in Kobe it will be staged at Kobe Arts Village Center, from the 19th to 23rd of September.

With the festival program yet to be announced, this promises to become a very special festival. In the meanwhile, enjoy the aftermovie from last year’s TodaysArt.JP pilot edition.
